Aviso Fraudes em Cartas e Emails

Recebeu uma carta, email ou telefonema de telefone comunicando-lhe que ganhou um grande prêmio?

Muito provavelmente é uma fraude, um roubo, na que lhe tentarão cobrar comissões antes de pagar-lhe um prêmio. SOBRETUDO NÃO PAGUE NADA. Os delinquentes utilizam habitualmente os nomes de organizações de loteria oficiais e legítimas, mas isso não significa que a mensagem seja legítima . Qualquer pode enviar uma mensagem ou um telefonema que diga "Isto é a Loteria Européia, e você ganhou um prêmio" - e isto é basicamente o que os delinquentes fazem. A regra básica a ter em conta é: se não jogou, é impossível que ganhasse. Nenhuma loteria oficial envia prêmios a pessoas aleatórias que nunca jogaram em seus sorteios.

Qual é o modo habitual de operar destes delinquentes?

Existem bandas de delinquentes, de nacionalidades diversas, estão utilizando fraudulentamente o prestígio e os nomes comerciais da Loteria em vários países, especialmente nos da zona do sudeste de Ásia e o Pacífico e os do continente americano. Movem-se com facilidade por toda a geografia mundial e empregam telefones móveis, apartados de correios, direções provisórias ou falsas (com inclusão das direções reais de Organismos oficiais espanhóis), bem como nomes que evocam instituições prestigiosas ("o Gordo", "Euromilhões", "a Primitiva", "European Lottery Commission", etc.). Também falsificam os papéis impressos e as assinaturas de diversas entidades bancárias. Para cometer o roubo, o procedimento geralmente seguido consiste em anunciar à vítima potencial que ganhou um prêmio quantioso (ainda que não tenha participado em sorteio algum), conquanto não poderá cobrar dito prêmio até que tenha pago por antecipado uma soma destinada aos impostos, gastos bancários, gastos de envio ou tramitação de seguro, etc. Habitualmente, o delinquente adverte a sua vítima potencial que o prazo para abonar esses ônus é muito breve e que está a ponto de caducar seu direito à cobrança do prêmio. Os prêmios da Loteria espanhola sempre estão livres de impostos e encargos, e a Polícia espanhola já deteve e posto a disposição judicial a alguns membros de bandas que atuavam desde o território nacional. Portanto, quando lhe ofereçam "prêmios" que guardem relação aparente com a Loteria espanhola, NÃO PAGUE quantidade alguma.
